The moment you arrive at Camps Bay Retreat, you’ll be entranced by the charm of the original Manor House that gives the estate its olden day charm. A grand entrance hall of marble and pillars welcomes you and invites your eyes to trail over its careful detailing. With dramatic features such as high ceilings, oversized paintings, a baby grand piano, chandeliers and Turkish rugs, the manor’s interior instantly transports one to a previous era. A log fire is always burning in the cooler months and the entrance hall flows effortlessly out onto the terrace and the gardens.

Camps Bay Retreat Reviews
“This is a special hotel. From the moment of arrival, the staff were helpful, friendly and informative. There is a library for the use of guests, and a sitting room with well-stuffed chairs and a large backgammon set. Good food at very modest prices, a delightful al-fresco bar, and view to the far horizon. Two golden retrievers wander about – It is furnished like a fine 1950’s country house, but everything is spotless, fully functional and available.” – William K
“The place is a total surprise in every way. Magical grounds so close to the beach, yet away from the hustle of camps bay. Great service and gorgeous rooms. There is an amazing view of sunset on a clear evening, and lovely spa. The food is good, but also close enough from so many good restaurants such as roundhouse or codfather. Recommend to book ahead and pick an apartment which is spacious and some have perfect views and even pool. I would absolutely be back!” – Lucia H
“Very pleased that we chose to stay at the Camps Bay Retreat for our first visit to Cape Town. A friend recommended that we stay in this area, rather than the Waterfront, and am really glad that we did. Beautiful views from this lovely hotel which has excellent facilities, service, staff and food. Would highly recommend.” – laurar104
