Fall asleep to the gentle sounds of the ocean and awake to a new day of awesome possibilities. With private beaches a few steps away and the best of the city within a ten-minute drive, it’s easy to make all your Cape Town dreams come true at Lagoon Beach.
Lagoon Beach is found to the northeast of central Cape Town, and is a quiet and charming little area of beautiful beach and stunning views of the ever-famous and present Table Mountain. If you do nothing else but enjoy the sun, sea and sand on the doorstep of your hotel, along with all the hotel spoils, you will have had an amazing holiday, but at Lagoon Beach, there are also so many other intriguing things do within such a short travelling distance.
In Cape Town, there is no reason to stay calm and sophisticated if all you want to do is let your hair down, explore, climb, jump, swim or fly! From your location at Lagoon Beach, you can easily arrange to do many adrenaline-packed or adventurous activities. A couple of ideas include shark-cage diving, quad biking, sky diving, abseiling, zip lining, horse riding, hiking, helicopter flights, paragliding and sandboarding.
Once you have arrived at Lagoon Beach you may be wondering how best to see the very best of Cape Town. For many visitors, the double-decker, open-air red CitySightSeeing Bus is a great experience and an excellent way to move between some of the most popular of Cape Town’s attractions. The city tour takes you to the Table Mountain cableway, the blue tour includes Kirstenbosch, the yellow tour focusses on many of the city’s historic landmarks and museums and the purple tour is reserved for the Constantia Valley wine estates. There are also Waterfront Harbour Cruise routes, township tour routes and a Sunset Bus that goes to Signal Hill.
A bit further from Lagoon Beach, but well worth the trip, is the ever-popular little Simon’s Town, famous as a naval base and harbour first for the Royal Navy and nowadays for the South African Navy. It’s fascinating nautical history, including the story of the dog, Just Nuisance, is detailed at the Simon’s Town Museum. At Simon’s Town, you will also find a toy museum, a sophisticated waterfront centre, some cobbled streets with lovely restored cottages, twenty-one buildings over 150 years old, seaside restaurants, a scratch patch and Boulders Beach, a beach that is the home of an African penguin colony.
No matter where you choose to go from Lagoon Beach, we are certain that you will always look forward to coming back to your hotel in this marvellous part of Cape Town. Cape Town is, after all, a seaside destination, and you will want to have amazing views of the ocean. In addition, the magnificent views of Table Mountain are a bonus when staying at Lagoon Beach.
